We ran a candidate for the Minneapolis School Board. He lost the primary election. We learned that we can't win with just Somali votes, the next time, we'll have other immigrant communities working with us as well.
Issues Identification and Shaping
The Public Policy Project understands that whoever frames the story, frames the discussion.
We facilitate the process of marginalized individuals and communities consciously identifying, shaping and telling their own stories. We work with organizations and communities to craft effective advocacy messages, from simplifying issues to make them understandable for the man on the street to developing emotionally engaging metaphors that provide a human face to political and cultural challenges.
The ability to speak effectively and be understood is crucial for survival. Having a clear message when trying to express yourself is a must but if someone does not understand what you are trying to convey you will not get what you want. We have designed and managed grass-roots advocacy and day-on -the-hill legislative campaigns to assist individuals and communities to make effectively communicate those messages.
We also provide lobbying services for organizations.
