The Public Policy Project assists individuals, institutions and communities
to understand and influence policy and engage the policy making process.

Civic Engagement

The Public Policy Project can help with civic engagement campaigns to broaden and deepen ties within the community.

We have facilitated constructive dialogues and inclusion of marginalized constituencies, grass-roots leadership development and Get Out the Vote campaigns.

We understand that true change happens from bottom-up and not top-down, Those who are marginalized understand more than anyone the issues and challenges they face and know better how to change their circumstances as they exercise the inherent power they have as citizens and members of a community. We are open to designing and managing a wide variety of civic engagement mechanisms to meet the needs of communities and organizations.

All of our civic engagement programs conform to the principles of end-user participation that underscore our work. We believe that every individual should be a part of the decisions that impact their lives and our methods and philosophy embody this principle. We focus on building genuine understanding of the dynamic of participation and reconcile interest and not position. We also help organizations develop real structural mechanisms to foster it beyond the immediate need to find, recruit and engage individuals in issues and campaigns.
